Get in Touch

Questions about a Genesee County arrest must go to the office that holds the record. This private site cannot check a live jail system, confirm release, retrieve a mugshot, or file a public-record request. The contacts below route custody, court, state-corrections, and site-related questions to the proper place.

This is not a government office. Messages sent here cannot confirm custody, release a person, obtain a record, post bond, or correct an agency file.

Current County Custody

For a person who may be at Genesee County Jail or Flint City Lockup, use the official inmate-information line. Ask whether the person is in custody, released, or transferred.

Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Division
1002 South Saginaw Street
Flint, MI 48502
Inmate information: 810-257-3426
Non-emergency: 810-257-3422
Administration: 810-257-3406
Emergency: 911

The Sheriff does not publish a verified live roster or general booking-photo feed. MI-VINE may provide a separate custody-status check when its live system contains the record.

County Record Requests

Use the official Genesee County FOIA form for an existing booking card, jail log entry, release entry, or booking photograph. Name the person, date range, arresting agency, facility, and exact document sought.

FOIA Specialist Monaca Elston
Genesee County Board of Commissioners
1101 Beach Street, Room 312
Flint, MI 48502
Email: foia@geneseecountymi.gov

The county form permits inspection, copies, and a request for electronic delivery. Fees, deposits, exemptions, and lawful redactions may apply. It states a five-business-day response period and a possible ten-business-day extension.

Police and Court Records

Contact Flint Police, Burton Police, or Fenton Police when that department created the incident report. A city police record is different from a county jail booking. Burton and Fenton publish city FOIA routes; Fenton directs police requests to foia@fentonpolice.org.

For the case after booking, use MiCOURT and then the proper 67th District Court division or 7th Judicial Circuit Court clerk. The clerk, not this site, can explain access to an official or certified court record.

State or Federal Custody

Use Michigan OTIS for state prisoners, parolees, probationers, and covered recent discharges. MDOC lists Corr_Records_Info@michigan.gov for current prisoner records, MDOC-Records_Retention@michigan.gov for retained past-prisoner records, and MDOC-FOIA@michigan.gov for FOIA. Federal BOP and ICE custody require their own official locators.
